Twitter Counter buys Qwitter in micro acquisition

Twitter Counter, the biggest stats provider for Twitter users, buys UseQwitter in micro acquisition http://pressdoc.com/p/000egl

Two months after Twitter Counter incorporated Twitaholic, the company does another micro acquistion with UseQwitter. UseQwitter sends you a summary of who stopped following you on Twitter. It is another logical step forward in the competitive field of statistics for Twitter users.

"We always admired UseQwitter.com. It is a hugely popular Twitter tool and a much requested feature from our current users" says Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten, Twitter Counter's co-founder. "UseQwitter will stay an autonomous brand, but obviously we want users on both ends to benefit so we will look where Twitter Counter and UseQwitter can reinforce each other."

With over 180,000 active users and another 2,000 new users every week acquiring UseQwitter was a logical step for Twitter Counter. Twitter Counter is already tracking detailed statistics for 14 million users. Twitter Counter generates revenue by selling featured spots and premium memberships to clients including big brands like Microsoft, Durex, eBay, Coca Cola and Facebook.

Twitter Counter is an independent, self-funded and profitable company founded by Serial Entrepreneur Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten in 2008 as part of The Next Web Labs.

With buying UseQwitter the company also incorporates TweetSaver.com, a freemium service for Twitter users to archive their tweets and being able to search through them well beyond what Twitter itself offers.

Both brands were bought in a public online auction for the magical amount of $11,111.
